Born in Hokkaido back in 1998, LeTAO has made a name for itself with its irresistible Double Fromage cheesecake. It's so loved that a piece flies off the shelves every ten seconds in Japan. Now, it's here for us Aussies to get a taste of this creamy delicacy.

LeTAO opened its online store in Australia in 2021, offering its range of products to customers all over the country. Not long after, the Melbourne flagship store popped up on Swanston St, inviting Melburnians to experience the delicious cheesecake first-hand. Later this year, Sydneysiders will have the same pleasure with their own flagship store.

The Melbourne store is not just a shop but an experience. Decked out in sleek charcoal by K.Holland (the designer behind Minamishima), the store offers a chic, modern look that echoes Hokkaido's volcanic mountains. Naruto Uemura San, the CEO of LeTAO, highlights that while the look is fresh, the essence remains the same - the traditional techniques and heritage they are known for.

Each LeTAO cheesecake is a testament to the richness of Hokkaido's famous dairy. Blending Hokkaido cream with Australian cream cheese, the result is a rich yet light cheesecake, melting in your mouth with every bite.

And it's not just the Double Fromage. Customers are spoilt for choice with a range of flavours such as the smooth and buttery Camembert with French honey, the Chocolat Double with 66% cacao Spanish chocolate, and the Australia-exclusive Snow Cake mousse cheesecake.

For a quick nibble, you can grab a Jersey milk roll, cheese cookies, or Darjeeling tea-infused chocolate truffles. Those who drop by the store can enjoy soft-serve ice cream with the option of adding a wedge of cheesecake or a shot of Market Lane coffee on top.

Whether you order online or pick up directly from the store, there's a slice of LeTAO waiting to add a bit of Japanese indulgence to your day. So, Melbourne, ready to embrace Japan's cheesecake love affair
