Stop and Smell the Rosé at Entrecôte: Spring in Bloom with French Flair

1 / 12

Entrecôte in Prahran has embraced the spirit of spring with a four-course lunch that transports diners straight to Provence. Running until November 15, this limited-time experience pairs each course with a curated selection of French rosés from MiravalSieur D'ArquesLyv Wine, and Domaine De La Croix Le Cap. Adding to the charm, Entrecôte has transformed their Le Conservatoire space into a rosé-tinted courtyard with a Frenchy chic vibe that feels worlds away.

The Stop & Smell The Rosé menu starts at $90 per person and is a four course French feast paired with four fine French rosés:

Course One: The Canapé

To set the stage, the menu begins with Bouchée de Concombre—a petite cucumber topped with crème fraîche and Yarra Valley salmon roe. Paired with the refreshing bubbles of Sieur d’Arques Sparkling Rosé, it’s a crisp and clean opening that whets the palate for what’s to come.

Course Two: The Entrée Choice

Diners can choose between the Asperges Sauce Mousseline (local asparagus with a rich mousseline and smoked hen’s yolk) or the Raviolo aux Crevettes, a saffron-infused king prawn raviolo with lobster bisque beurre blanc, finished with salmon roe. Paired with Lyv Rosé, both options play on the gentle sweetness of spring produce, balanced by the wine’s floral notes.

Course Three: The Main Event

For mains, there’s Petit Poulet à la Sauce Bocuse, a free-range chicken with corn purée, cavolo nero, and a mustard-tarragon sauce that would feel right at home in the French countryside. The other option, Poisson du Jour, is a market-fresh fish served with pommes frites and a classic sauce gribiche. Both are served with Miraval Rosé, a crisp yet fruity rosé that enhances each bite without overpowering it.

Course Four: Dessert and the Grand Finale

Finally, Fraise et Rosé delivers the sweet satisfaction every good French meal deserves. This dessert of local strawberries, rosé ice cream, Chantilly, and a delicate brandy snap is paired with Domaine de la Croix Le Cap Rosé. It’s the ultimate finish, merging the sweetness of spring strawberries with the delicate acidity of rosé.

Entrecôte’s rosé lunch is an invitation to reclaim the long lunch, to take a few hours in the glow of Le Conservatoire and enjoy the best of French-inspired food and wine. It’s an affair that’s far from fuss, letting the season’s favourite drink shine alongside each course without a hint of pretense. Seats are limited, so make sure to reserve your table and indulge in this spring fling before it’s gone.
