Seoul Garden Lands at Chadstone with a Flagship Korean BBQ and Hot Pot Feast

1 / 10

If you’ve ever queued outside Seoul Garden in Docklands or scrolled through the endless posts of tabletop grills on your feed, you’ll know Melbourne can’t get enough of this KBBQ powerhouse. Now, just a year after launching its first Melbourne venue, Seoul Garden has opened its sixth spot, this time with a flagship at Chadstone.

This isn’t your standard shopping centre eatery. The new 375-square-metre space seats 130 guests and looks more like a luxury hotel restaurant than a food court neighbour. Think plush interiors, gleaming grills at every table, and a line-up of premium cuts that would make any wagyu lover weak at the knees.

BBQ, Hot Pot, or Both?

The Chadstone outpost introduces a first for the brand: Seoul Garden Hot Pot. Diners can now choose between firing up the grill or dipping into steaming broths, with over 50 hot pot variations on offer. Can’t decide? No need—tables are set up so you can run BBQ and hot pot side by side. It’s the kind of excess Melbourne eats up.

On the menu you’ll find 24 cuts of beef (yes, wagyu included), fresh seafood, Korean fried chicken, tteokbokki, japchae, a noodle station, and a dessert line-up that could easily hold its own. The experience is buffet-style, but forget the dodgy bain-maries. Everything is replenished quickly, kept fresh, and accompanied by banchan and house-made sauces. At $49.90 per person, it’s an absolute free-for-all in the best way possible.

A Year of Big Growth

Seoul Garden co-founders David Loh and Yong Qin say the response from Melburnians has been overwhelming. The Docklands venue was packed from day one, and with seven sites now across Melbourne and Brisbane, the Chadstone flagship is another step in their plan to expand nationally, with Sydney and more Queensland stores already on the horizon.

As Loh explains, “Being our flagship venue, we’ve spared no expense. The aim is to bring together Eastern luxury with Western design, creating a space that feels both elevated and accessible.”

Qin adds, “For us it’s always been about quality ingredients, traditional preparation and creating an experience where people come together. Whether it’s friends, families or food enthusiasts, we want this to feel like a destination.”

Chadstone Gets Even Tastier

The opening also signals Chadstone’s continued transformation into a dining hub that’s more than just a pit stop between shops. Acting Centre Manager Mardi Ashkine says Seoul Garden’s arrival is a big win for the precinct, adding another heavy-hitter to the line-up.

So whether you’re a grill purist or a hot pot experimenter, Seoul Garden’s Chadstone flagship is proof that Melbourne’s appetite for Korean dining shows no sign of slowing. Come hungry.
