Rustica to Open Flagship Venue On Chapel Street, South Yarra
Rustica has been baking up a strong presence in the Melbourne café scene over the years. Established in 2012 by Founder and renowned Baker, Brenton Lang, Rustica currently have five stores and is set to open their new 'flagship' venue on Chapel Street, South Yarra.
Fiona Dargo Architect, whose hospitality repertoire includes that of Albert Street Food and Wine, Port of Call, Plain Sailing and the many Rustica branches, is responsible for the new Rustica flagship venue. What was once a 500 square meter retail warehouse has been transformed into a light and airy 100 seater eatery with large windows, earthy tones, marble tabletops and timber throughout.
The Rustica menu will feature their signature pastries, think cronuts, donuts and the best banana bread you will ever try as well as breakfast and lunch dishes such as their famed lobster eggs benedict. The venue will also be introducing a night time offering complete with a sourdough pizza menu and beverages from craft breweries such as Bodriggy Brewing Co and Noble Boy, as well as selected wines from Polperro Winery in Red Hill.
The Rustica empire has grown dramatically since 2012 and shows no sign of slowing down. While other café groups shine in the spotlight, Rustica have been quietly dominating. We're excited to see this next phase for Rustica.
