QT Melbourne's Newest Concierge Has Four Paws and a Wagging Tail

1 / 6

QT Melbourne has never been one to play by the rules, and now, they’ve got a new top dog proving that good hospitality isn’t just a human gig. Meet Russell, the hotel’s first-ever Wellbeing Dog-cierge. A 20-month-old Blonde Labrador Retriever with an unbeatable resumé in charm, he’s ready to greet guests, spread joy, and redefine what it means to check into one of Melbourne’s most playful hotels. Fur real.

Russell, named after QT’s home on Russell Street, officially moves in on 27 February 2025. His journey to hotel life started with Guide Dogs Victoria, where he trained to assist individuals with low vision or blindness. But it turns out his talents lie elsewhere—mainly in making people feel welcome, leading morning walks, and being the kind of hotel staff member you actually want to wake up next to. His job description? Deliver comfort, companionship, and a whole lot of tail wags.

“We’re incredibly proud to welcome Russell to QT Melbourne,” says General Manager Kristen Foat. “His presence represents not just a commitment to our guests’ wellbeing, but also a deep appreciation for the important work Guide Dogs Victoria does in the community. Through this partnership, we’re able to give back in a meaningful way while creating an environment of joy, connection, and compassion.”

To celebrate Russell’s arrival, QT Melbourne is rolling out some paw-some dog-friendly initiatives—because what’s the point of a Wellbeing Dog-cierge if he’s not sharing the love?

Pups & Poses on the Rooftop—Downward Dog, But Make It Literal

A yoga session, but better. QT Melbourne is teaming up with Soflo Studios to host rooftop yoga classes where guests can stretch it out alongside Guide Dogs Victoria’s puppies-in-training. Expect a mix of zen and chaos as tiny paws scamper between mats. Classes run monthly, and ticket drops will be available exclusively via QT Melbourne’s Instagram Story.

Deli QT’s Dog-Friendly Menu—Puppacinos Are In

Your morning coffee run just got an upgrade—because now, it’s treats all around. QT’s lobby-side sandwich bar, Deli QT, is serving up puppacinos alongside their usual lineup of Italian panini and pastries. Open Monday to Saturday from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm, it’s now a must-visit for both caffeine addicts and their canine companions. Bone appétit!

PupYeah! Staycations—Check In With Your Fur Baby

Bringing a new meaning to VIP (Very Important Pup) treatment, QT Melbourne’s PupYeah! Staycations let guests check in with their four-legged mates. Think pet-friendly accommodations, an in-room dining menu just for pups, and the kind of service that will make your dog wonder why they don’t get this treatment at home. Fetch your bags, it’s time for a paw-liday.

QT Melbourne has always had a knack for making guests feel at home—but with Russell now leading the charge, the hotel experience just got a whole lot furrier (and cuter).
