Grab a FREE Scoop of Ice-Cream Inspired By Victoria’s Finest Produce
From Thursday, 3 October to Sunday, 6 October, a series of ice-cream pop-ups will roll across Melbourne, showcasing limited-edition flavours crafted from locally sourced ingredients. The initiative is part of the Vic Grown pilot program, which puts a spotlight on the diversity and quality of Victoria’s food production. And the best part? You can taste it all for free.
In collaboration with beloved Melbourne ice-creamery, Billy Van Creamy, Food + Drink Victoria and Agriculture Victoria have developed five bespoke flavours using top-notch local ingredients. This isn’t just your standard vanilla scoop; we’re talking about goat cheese ice-cream with figs, brown-butter apple pie with cinnamon myrtle, and even an olive oil and salt concoction. These are the kinds of bold, inventive flavours that remind you just how good Victorian produce can be.
It’s all part of a broader mission to highlight Victoria’s agricultural strength, from its dairy farms to its fruit orchards, with a focus on supporting local producers and celebrating their craft. So, if you find yourself wandering the streets of Melbourne between October 3 and 6, you might just bump into one of these pop-up trucks offering a free scoop of something truly unique.
After the pop-ups, a special in-store campaign will run throughout October, giving those who miss out a chance to sample the same flavours in stores. It’s an invitation to explore a side of ice-cream that’s all about showcasing the best of Victoria – from farm to freezer.

- Olive Oil & Salt – Smooth, creamy olive oil ice-cream with flakes of salt from Lake Tyrrell.
