Melbourne’s three-storey gem, Farmer’s Daughters, has unveiled a fresh new look for its Rooftop, transforming it into an intimate dining space and wine bar that’s sure to become a go-to spot for city dwellers and visitors alike. Nestled high above the bustling city streets, the newly refurbished space offers a serene green oasis, perfect for enjoying the finest wines and seasonal share plates inspired by Gippsland’s rich culinary heritage.
The all-weather Rooftop at Farmer’s Daughters has undergone a significant transformation, now featuring plush banquette seating and a relaxed atmosphere that blends rustic charm with urban sophistication. This revamped space is designed to accommodate both small and large groups, and for the first time, the Rooftop will accept bookings, making it an ideal destination for everything from casual get-togethers to unique private and corporate events.
True to the ethos of Farmer’s Daughters, the Rooftop’s wine list has been carefully curated to showcase the very best of Gippsland. Under the expert guidance of Sommelier Matthew Jensen and the Renascence Group’s team, the wine list exclusively features selections from renowned producers like William Downie, Bass Phillip, and Patrick Sullivan, alongside boutique favourites such as Carrajung Estate and Fleet Wines.
Whether you’re a seasoned wine connoisseur or a curious novice, the thoughtfully crafted wine menu is designed to cater to all palates. Organised by characteristic and flavour profile, it ensures an approachable and enjoyable experience. Guests can enjoy these wines by the glass or bottle, with personalised recommendations from the experienced sommeliers to guide their choices.
Complementing the exceptional wine list is a menu of seasonal share plates that highlight the best produce Gippsland has to offer. Current menu highlights include Amber Creek leg ham served with Powlett Reserve feijoa and wholegrain mustard, a refreshing Lakes Entrance crudo with lime, orange, smoked green chilli, and coriander, and a hearty pasture-raised chicken and celeriac pie with kale and tarragon butter sauce. For those with a sweet tooth, desserts like the Jersey cream panna cotta with poached prune, bee pollen, and honey syrup are sure to delight.
Farmer’s Daughters Executive Chef Alejandro Saravia expressed his excitement about the revamped space, saying, “We’re committed to delivering an unparalleled guest experience. This new Rooftop wine bar is a homage to our Gippsland roots, blending rustic charm with Melbourne’s urban sophistication.”
The Rooftop at Farmer’s Daughters is now open daily from 4:00 pm until late, offering a unique dining and wine experience in the heart of the city. Bookings are available at Farmer’s Daughters, and walk-ins are also welcome.
