Caroline Springs Gets a Festival Worth Toasting To

1 / 6

Melbourne’s west is about to get its own reason to raise a glass. The Caroline Springs Beer, Food & Wine Festival is making its debut on Saturday 22 November, promising an afternoon of sipping, snacking and soaking up lakeside sunshine at the WestWaters Entertainment Complex.

It’s free, it’s family-friendly, and it’s the Oscars Group’s first Victorian outing after pulling huge crowds at their NSW festivals in Lake Macquarie and Towradgi. Now, they’re bringing the same energy to the banks of Caroline Springs Lake, with over twenty breweries, distilleries and wineries pouring their best by the water’s edge.

Expect a line-up that reads like a roll call of Victoria’s finest. Cavalier Brewing from Derrimut will be repping the west with its award-winning beers, while Arktika Vodka from Laverton will pour their gold-medal spirit, fresh off its San Francisco World Spirits Competition win. The CBD’s Little Lon Distilling Co will shake up cocktails with their silver-winning Miss Yoko Gin, and Bodriggy Brewing Co from Abbotsford will bring the big personality beers they’re known for.

It’s not all about the drinks, though. WestWaters’ own venues are stepping up with a greatest-hits menu. Think pub classics from Ruck & Rover Sports Bar, share plates and charcuterie at Miss Caroline, and premium seafood from Saige Bistro. Add dessert trucks, Aperol spritzes and grazing boards that practically demand a photo, and you’ve got yourself a very Melbourne Saturday.

Two live music stages will keep the tempo steady, featuring everything from local acoustic sets to pub rock favourites. The organisers have even thought of the little ones, with face painting, balloon artists and games, so parents can linger a little longer over that second (or third) tasting paddle.

The whole idea is to bring Melbourne’s west into the spotlight. It’s the kind of event that could easily belong in the inner-city calendar, but locals get the luxury of skipping the traffic and heading straight to the lakeshore instead.

If your weekend wishlist includes good drinks, good food and good vibes, mark the date and rally the crew. The first Caroline Springs Beer, Food & Wine Festival looks set to pour perfectly.
